The student used the song "Disappear" by Katy B to do their music video on, and by the setting and clothing I can tell the intended audience is young adults and teenagers in London/ the city in general. The genre of the music video is Dubstep music. The music video seems to have been built around the song as is doesn't follow traditional narrative structure, the student looks directly into the camera as they are trying to involve the viewer in the performance of the song. The video displays obvious edits such as Slow Motion, they also used repeated shots of the performer which suggests the use of a base track. The video also shows evidence of editing in time with the beat of the slow as video slows down at the slow parts of the song, the camera moves slowly in time with the slow pace of the music.
The representation of the Dubstep genre in shown through the performer clothing, it is typical of an inner city young adult or teenager that this genre is popular amongst and so represents the genre well.
Also, the setting of the music video is at night in the busy city, this is representative of the genre as this genre is most likely to play in city clubs or parties and so successfully represents the genre.
I particularly enjoyed this video as the it had a good use of close ups and nicely framed shots, I also enjoyed the performer's choice in costume as the outfits were nicely put together, the accessories worked well with the setting and the outfits, but also the performer made a good use of make up which made the close ups look even better. Their choice in their shot locations was very effective as they are familiar to the genre and the time lapse used to show the traffic effectively displayed busy city life.
