Research for music video: Mulvey's theory

''In a world ordered by sexual imbalance, pleasure in looking has been split between active/ male and passive/ female. The determining male gaze projects its fantasy onto the female figure which is styled accordingly'' (Laura Mulvey, 1992)

Mulvey's theory leads to the deduction that music videos are styled with the male perspective in mind leaving women to be 'eye- candy' or in other words the less dominant target audience with over sexualized appearances.
